The event, scheduled for March 7, 2026, promises to be an unforgettable experience, with 44 affiliated branches from across the country converging to make a statement against social ills.

'We are convening to give back to, and address pressing issues like GBV, substance abuse, and theft,' says Laki Kunene, Chairperson of the Botswana Pantsula Association. The event will feature a parade, with participants donning their finest Pantsula attire, including Brentwood, Carduccis, and Navada, among others.

The parade will start at Phikwe Mall and proceed to Phikwe Kgotla, kicking off at 2 pm, with dignitaries and community leaders in attendance. The Pantsula Association has also organised a series of activities, including a live band performance by local group Black Eye Stable, and a dance competition.

'We urge the public to join us in preaching against these social ills,' says Kunene. 'Government and churches alone cannot solve these problems; we need community involvement to make a difference.'

The evening festivities will take place at Elpaso Hall, Phikwe, starting at 6 pm, with live music and entertainment. Over the years, the Botswana Pantsula Association has grown significantly, with plans to open an office in Francistown soon. The association will also be holding board elections mid-year, with all members encouraged to participate.

The event promises to be a celebration of culture, community, and resilience. As Kunene puts it, 'A word with one or two can help. Let's put our hands together to curb these pandemics.'

The public is invited to join the parade and festivities, and to support the Pantsula Association's efforts to make a positive impact in the community.
