According to the Mahalapye Central Assistant Police Station commander, Assistant Malakia Gabana, the incident was reported on Saturday morning after the farm owner discovered his employee unresponsive in the yard.
“Upon arrival at the farm, about a kilometre away from Tewane village, the deceased’s employer found him lying motionless outside the house and immediately alerted the police,” Gabana said.
Police officers responded swiftly to the scene and transported the man to Mahalapye District Hospital, where he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors.
Gabana stated that, at this stage, there are no signs of foul play.
“We do not suspect any foul play. His employer indicated that he had visited him last week and found him in good health. We suspect he may have suffered a sudden illness, as there were no visible injuries on the body,” he explained.
However, Gababa said the body has been taken for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
