1. FACULTY OF SCIENCE
a) Department of Geology
Professor in Structural and Metamorphic Geology *REF: Vacancy No. IRC 3025
Requirements: Applicants should possess: (i) a PhD in structural geology and metamorphic geology or related discipline; (ii) evidence of governance and social engagement; (iii) research collaborations with other institutions or organisations; (iv) research collaboration with cognate disciplines in the University; (v) external examiner for Masters and/or PhD theses internationally.
UNIVERSITY TEACHING EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT: 9 years
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses. The candidate should be able to teach at least three of the following: structural geology, tectonics, metamorphic geology, mineralogy, field and general geology. The successful candidate must also be able to take an active role in supervising and assessing undergraduate and graduate research work. The Department reserves the right to allocate additional courses beyond those outlined above.
b) Department of Biological Sciences
Chief Technician *REF: Vacancy No. IRC 3026
Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) A Masters’ Degree in Biological Sciences or related field; (ii) A Bachelors’ Degree in Biological Sciences may be considered based on the area of specialization; (iii) A minimum of six (6) years’ experience, three (3) of which should have been at a supervisory role (e.g. Senior Technician or equivalent); (iv) Extensive experience in technical operations, equipment maintenance, and facility management within an academic or research environment; (v) Strong leadership and management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage complex projects.
Added advantage: Higher education and experience will be an added advantage
Duties: The successful candidate will be responsible for: (i) Supervision of all Technical staff; (ii) Managing operational performance against established goals and objectives, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective action as needed; (iii) Overseeing the provision of teaching support during laboratory sessions, tutorials and practical classes through demonstrations, hands-on assistance for group practical work and tutorials; (iv) Any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department/Supervisor/Departmental Chairperson in line with the role.

2. FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
Department of Mechanical Engineering
Lecturer in Control and Instrumentation *REF: Vacancy No. IRC 3046
Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research. The following will be added advantages: (i) evidence of Governance and Social Engagement.
UNIVERSITY TEACHING EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT: Added advantage.
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Systems and Control Engineering and related areas; (ii) Supervise both undergraduate and graduate student research projects; (iii) Render professional service and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
