Systems Administrator Vacancy

 

Role Purpose

The Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring stable, secure, and scalable technology operations across all Tsetseng Retail Group environments—including Head Office, Stores, and Distribution Centres. This role combines hands-on technical knowledge, service management, infrastructure administration, problem analysis, and project delivery to ensure IT solutions directly support operational excellence and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure & Systems Operations

• Manage and support core IT infrastructure:

o Servers (physical & virtual), storage, backups, and disaster recovery

o Cloud services (Azure / Microsoft 365)

o Networks (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN/MPLS, VPNs, ZTNA)

o Firewalls, security tools, and endpoint management.

2. Network & Security Management

• Administer LAN, WAN, and VPN, ZTNA environments.

3. User Support & Service Desk Leadership

• Provide IT support to Head Office, Stores, and Distribution Centres.

4. Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work with business units to understand operational needs.

5. Project & Change Delivery

• Lead and deliver IT projects.

• Manage change processes and ensure minimal business disruption.

6. Vendor, Asset & Documentation Management

• Manage and coordinate IT vendors.

7. Software Maintenance, Support, and Upgrades.

• Manage installed Software and ensure minimal business disruption.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, IT, or related field (or equivalent).

• 7–10+ years’ experience in IT Operations, Systems Administration, and Service Delivery.

• Experience in retail or FMCG distributed environments is an advantage.

• Valid driver’s license

• Based at Tsetseng Retail Group Head Office, Gaborone.

• Travel to country-wide Stores and Distribution Centres required.
