Magosi stretched their unbeaten run under the Spanish mentor with a 1-1 draw against Police XI in an FNB Premiership match played at the GU Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The result puts the Kgatleng giants in third position, now seven points behind leaders, Jwaneng Galaxy and second-placed Gaborone United (GU).
Since Torreira’s arrival, Chiefs have registered four wins and a draw in five matches, sparking renewed optimism amongst their faithful.
However, Torreira was quick to downplay any title ambitions.
“I am not thinking the championship but I am thinking about improving my team day by day only. I need more time with our team, I need more time to know our league, to know our players and I need more time to improve our level in matches like this,” he said.
The encounter was played under difficult conditions after weekend rains left the pitch waterlogged, forcing a 15-minute delay to kick-off.
Police XI had an early opportunity to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty in the 11th minute after Benson Mangolo brought down Karabo Kelatlhilwe in the box.
However, Vincent Lekorwe rattled the crossbar from the spot. Both sides struggled to impose themselves on the soggy surface, and the first half ended goalless.
Chiefs broke the deadlock immediately after the restart when veteran striker, Evans Rusike capitalised on a goalkeeping error and scored from close range in the 46th minute, opening his account for the club.
But Police responded swiftly, with Peter Adwioh rising highest to head home Kelatlhilwe’s corner in the 53rd minute to restore parity.
Meanwhile, Adwioh’s afternoon took a dramatic turn when he was sent off in the 63rd minute after receiving his second yellow card, leaving Police to battle the remainder of the match with 10 men.
Chiefs pushed for a winner late on, with Rusike and Hendrick Moyo both going close, but Police goalkeeper Tshomarelo More produced crucial saves to ensure the points were shared.
