The song tells the story of a one-sided love affair where one person is deeply committed, while the other is unfaithful.

In an interview, Garozz explained that the song is about finding freedom and healing after a toxic relationship. 'Pelo tshweu boela mmannong' is a phrase that emphasizes the liberation he now feels, even though it hurts. 'It's time to heal and move on,' he said.

Garozz's music has evolved, and Mmati marks a new direction for him. Inspired by artists like Mawelele, Danya, and the late Lizwi Wokuqala, he has started writing in vernacular, making his music more relatable to his audience.

The creative process for 'Mmati' was unique. Garozz wrote the lyrics first, and then the beat was created later. 'I usually get an instrumental and write for it, but this one was written beforehand,' he explained.

Garozz is excited to share his music with his fans and hopes they will resonate with the message. 'It's a challenge, honestly, because most of my music is online, and most of my fans aren't subscribed to those platforms,' he said.

The upcoming event will feature special performances and guests, and Garozz is hoping to launch the single a month later. 'I want to make sure it gets the push and recognition it deserves,' he said.

Garozz's faith has played a significant role in shaping the themes and messages of his music. 'I have faith that my music will resonate with people, and I always try to be clear and concise with my message,' he said.

Balancing music with other aspects of life can be challenging, but Garozz prioritises his family and personal well-being. 'Music is therapeutic for me, and it helps me process things better,' he said.

His advice to aspiring artists is to focus on creating and being consistent. 'Don't be shy to get feedback from people who wouldn't normally pick your song as their first choice,' he said.

Garozz hopes to achieve more with this new release and is working on collaborations with other artists. 'I have a few collaborations with my industry peers and an EP in the vault,' he said.

With 'Mmati,' Garozz is giving his fans a taste of what's to come. 'It's me giving the first impression for the second time,' he said with a smile.
