GU eye sweet Valentine’s treat against Sua

Kick-off is 7pm. With 44 points on the board, the Reds have had to weather a little heartbreak recently, losing ground in their last outing and letting Jwaneng Galaxy close the gap to a mere three points.
The stakes could not be sweeter or spicier on Valentine’s Day, as GU aim to show their fans some love with a vital three points in a tie they have massively dominated.
The two sides have met nine times, with GU winning five, Sua two, and two ending in a stalemate. At home, it is all rosy for the Reds as they have never lost to Sua at the GU Stadium, and in addition, the team has not tasted defeat in a home league match at the arena.
Ahead of the tricky weekend tie, GU faithful will hope that the GU Stadium and the team’s love story continue.
Form tells a tale of tension as GU’s last five outings have been a bit of a rocky romance, with only two wins and three draws. Sua, however, are finding their own rhythm under coach Leutlwetse Tshireletso, claiming three victories out of their last five games.
Saturday will be a test of GU’s nerves; a win keeps their hands firmly on the title with just over 10 games left, whilst anything less might see the chasing pack whisper sweet nothings in Galaxy’s favour.
Elsewhere, the love for league points is in the air across the country. BDF XI take on Nico United in the VTM Arena on Saturday afternoon, whilst Orapa United welcome Matebele FC at Lucara Stadium. TAFIC host struggling Township Rollers in Francistown as Morupule Wanderers visit Black Lions at the Royal Aria Stadium. Extension Gunners look to deny Jwaneng Galaxy at the Lobatse Sports Complex at 7pm.
On Sunday, Mochudi Centre Chiefs, under new coach Miguel Corral Torreira, aim for five wins in five when they take on Police XI at the GU Stadium.
To round off the weekend, minnows Calendar Stars and Santa Green clash in Francistown. All the afternoon games kick off at 4pm.
