The discovery has spurred the police in the area to launch an investigation to ascertain what caused the death of the duo. Jwaneng Police Station commander, Superintendent Osimilwe Mangena, explained that they received a report on Sunday concerning a 31-year-old man who was found dead in the bush. Preliminary findings suggest that the man allegedly murdered his 32-year-old girlfriend before taking his own life. According to the station head, the police received two separate reports with the first one coming from a farmer who discovered the man hanging from a tree. The second report was made by tenants who lived near the couple, Mangena added.
The tenants then informed the police that they found a note left by the man at the door of the house, which read: “I’m gone, please check my house.” Mangena explained that the tenants stated they entered the house after reading the note and found the woman lying dead on the bed. They further reported that there were indications she had been choked. It is alleged that the man later went into the bush, where he hanged himself using a rope. Police investigations are continuing, with Superintendent Mangena saying authorities are awaiting post-mortem results to establish the exact causes of death of both individuals
