No.13 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Mmoloke Sebako, told The Monitor the minor was hit by a car driven by a 47-year-old man.
“The child sustained a fractured left hip and was rushed to Sidilega Private Hospital, where he is currently admitted in a stable condition,” Sebako said.
Sebako expressed concern over the continued rise in pedestrian-related accidents and urged motorists to exercise extra caution, particularly in residential areas where children are often present.
“Pedestrians continue to lose their lives at the hands of motorists despite ongoing efforts to sensitise both drivers and pedestrians about road safety,” he said.
