The new facility, officially launched to the public on January 28, is part of the lodge’s step-by-step expansion strategy aimed at meeting client demand while remaining mindful of the tough hospitality environment.

Previously limited to a 16-seater boardroom, the lodge now boasts of a versatile space that can comfortably host up to 50 people without tables, or around 40 when arranged in a classroom-style setup. The room is complemented by an outdoor breakaway area that offers guests space for tea breaks, informal discussions, phone calls or relaxation between sessions.

Adding value to the offering, the lodge has also installed a projector that comes as a complimentary service to clients, making the venue ideal for workshops, corporate meetings, trainings and small conferences. During a celebratory event held to mark the completion of the meeting room, Indaba Lodge General Manager, Masimba Ndlovu, thanked partners and clients for their continued support, noting that the project was driven by customer feedback and demand for a larger, more versatile space.

He highlighted the significance of December in the lodge’s history, recalling the opening of Indaba Lodge in December 2018 and the completion of the new meeting room in December 2025. According to Ndlovu, the facility is more than just an additional room, but a symbol of collaboration, growth and commitment to excellence. He dedicated the meeting space to the lodge’s partners, clients and the community, describing it as a place where ideas can be shared, strategies developed and successes celebrated. Ndlovu also outlined the wider footprint of the Indaba Hospitality Group, which includes Indaba Hotel Fourways in Johannesburg, Indaba Lodge Richards Bay and Nata Lodge, positioning the Gaborone property as part of a growing regional hospitality brand.

The new meeting room strengthens Indaba Lodge’s position in the local market as demand for modern, flexible meeting venues continues to rise. With its increased capacity, complimentary equipment and relaxed outdoor area, the facility is expected to attract a wider range of corporate and community events, reinforcing the lodge’s steady and customer-focused expansion.
