The third edition of 'Too Young to be this Old,' a comedy show written and directed by Triccs, proved to be a massive hit, with the audience in stitches throughout the night.
Triccs, known for his intriguing fashion sense, walked onto the stage looking like a million bucks, sporting a black beanie, a suit, shiny moccasin black shoes, and a brown fur coat, complete with a cane.
His grand entrance, accompanied by a hip hop song, had the crowd going wild. His jokes about how people from 'kasi' wouldn't appreciate his drip, with some calling his coat names like a German Shepherd dog, had the audience laughing out loud.
As expected, Triccs' jokes about life, fashion, and social commentary were spot on, with the audience lapping up every word.
MC Bambino kept the energy high with his endless stream of jokes, including some clever jabs at the Kalangas and their love of phane. He even imitated a pilot who visited Maun, speaking and behaving like the locals.
The night's lineup was a mix of style and substance, with each comedian bringing their unique brand of humor to the stage. Mokopoza kicked things off with a hip hop-inspired entrance and jokes about dating and low self-esteem.
Dexter Royal kept the audience laughing throughout his performance, while Johnny Pula proved why he's one of the few local comedians always invited to perform internationally.
DJ Zito kept the music flowing, expertly tailoring the tunes to each comedian's style. The event has come a long way since its inception, with a growing audience and even international performances.
The organisers' goal is to provide a platform for local comedians to showcase their talents, and this year's show was a testament to their success.
The event was even taken to Francistown on Saturday, with the aim of unearthing hidden talent and giving them a spot to shine. With comedians like Triccs, Bambino, and Johnny Pula on the scene, Botswana's comedy landscape is looking brighter than ever.
As one audience member put it, 'The only rule to comedy is to bring your humor bone and come enjoy.'
And that's exactly what the crowd did; laughing and cheering throughout the night. The night was a testament to the power of comedy and style, and many cannot wait to see what is next.
