Councillor charged with raping minor

councillor, Mmusi Jerry, appeared before the Masunga Magistrate Court yesterday (Monday) for allegedly raping a 12-year-old minor in Makobo village.PIc: THE VOICE NEWSPAPER
According to the charge sheet, Jerry faces a single count of rape. It is alleged that he had sex with a 12-year-old minor at Kgosing ward at Makobo last Thursday (January 29).
Prosecutor Moathodi Macheng, in securing his remand, stated that their investigations are still at preliminary stages and that the victim is still receiving counselling.
Jerry was then remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Francistown Magistrate's Court on February 10.
