The player has set a date with Kuan-Shou of Chinese Taipei in the semi-final.
Raguin’s father and manager, Dominique Raguin, told Sport Monitor that he was proud of his son’s performance.
“Our initial objective was simply for him to qualify for the main draw, and while we believed he was capable of competing at this level, nothing is ever guaranteed.
“The priority has always been his development and learning from high-level competition, and he is progressing in the right direction,” the manager said.
The tennis star recorded a major upset at tournament, defeating World Junior number two, Yannick Theodor Alexandrescou after following a thrilling three hours, 30 minutes battle to secure his place in the quarter finals.
On his path to the last eight, Raguin defeated opponents from Australia, Italy, United States of America and France.
Meanwhile, the ITF/CAT Southern Africa Junior Championships which were attended by 11 countries, came to an end over the weekend at the National Tennis Center.
The Under 14 boys and girls, as well Under 16 boys reached the semi-finals, displaying remarkable skills, determination, and hunger for success. The girls Under 14 team scooped a silver medal with South Africa settling for the gold medal.
