Seabo has been serving as interim head coach following the departure of Srdjan Zivojnov, who has since joined Black Lions. Speaking to MmegiSport this week, Rollers' secretary-general, Ofentse Mosekiemang, explained that the club’s ongoing financial constraints informed their decision.

Seabo will be assisted by club icon Edwin Moalosi.

“The decision was taken following the past Sunday meeting. However, as teams return from the Christmas break, Popa will resume their preparations early next week,” Mosekiemang said.

“We currently do not have plans to appoint a new head coach, so Seabo will continue in the role and yes, with Moalosi as assistant,” he said.

“We met over the week, we had a meeting with the team manager, and we made a plan of return to preparations. He presented a training programme from the coaching staff. We are yet to return from the Christmas break, but we had the programme from the coaches. By late this week or early next week, we should have resumed our training.”

Seabo joined Rollers in 2021 and has served as assistant coach under several coaches, including Hasan Oktay, Sergio Traguil, Mogomotsi ‘Teenage’ Mpote, Abdelaziz Karkache, and Zivojnov.

The 34-year-old also served as the second assistant coach for the Zebras whilst they were in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 campaign in Morocco.

He holds a Confederation of African Football (CAF) B coaching diploma and is currently enrolled for the CAF A diploma, the highest qualification required for a head coach in the local league. He becomes the youngest head coach in the top flight this season.

Rollers are currently sixth on the log, nine points adrift of leaders Gaborone United. Ending the club’s five-season league title drought will be a formidable task for the youthful Seabo amidst the resumption of league action in a week.
