Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Mbiganyi Letsholathebe, said the victim reported that she met the suspect while walking alone at around 8pm.

“He allegedly asked her to accompany him to his house, claiming he wanted to take a bath before they went to a bar,” Letsholathebe said.

Police said that upon arrival, the suspect allegedly forced himself on the woman and raped her. The victim identified the suspect by his first name and that he is someone she knows as they reside in the area.

Letsholathebe said a manhunt has been launched to locate and arrest the suspect with investigations into the matter ongoing.

He further pleaded with men who are mostly perpetrators of rape to respect women and learn to accept no as no.
