Dinare claimed maximum points in a tense encounter played at the GU Stadium, with the match decided by a single goal in a contest where clear chances were scarce and efficiency proved decisive. Mogorosi made it clear that performance levels were secondary to results at this stage of the campaign.

“This is First Division. It is not all about playing good football, it is about three points,” he said.

“Whether you play bad or good, the most important thing is three points.”

The caretaker coach admitted that fortune favoured his side on the night, with Dinare making the most of their limited opportunities.

“Today it was a lucky day that we managed to convert that one chance,” Mogorosi added.

Taung Young Strikers pressed for an equaliser, particularly in the latter stages of the match, but Dinare’s disciplined defensive display and game management ensured their narrow lead remained intact until the final whistle.

The victory keeps Dinare FC at the top of the First Division South League standings with 29 points, with eight rounds still to play.

They are level on points with Prisons XI, but maintain pole position thanks to a superior goal difference — a factor that could prove crucial as the promotion race intensifies.

While the performance lacked polish, the result reinforced Dinare’s title credentials and highlighted the mindset often required to succeed in the unforgiving First Division.
