The victory not only restored confidence within the Thamaga’s side camp but also served as sweet revenge after Shooting Stars went down by a solitary goal to Notwane in the first round of fixtures.

The decisive moment arrived in the 55th minute when Tlamelo Abueng kept his composure from the penalty spot to hand TSS a priceless three points.

From there, Shooting Stars showed maturity and tactical discipline, shutting the door on their rivals and seeing out the match with determination.

TSS head coach, Nelson Olebile, acknowledged the pressure, insisting that the team “owed it to the people” to return to winning ways.

He also outlined plans to strengthen the squad when he spoke following the encounter.

“We are going to sit down as a team and look at where to beef up,” the gaffer said.

“We will be looking at the type of players who will come and bring value to the team. And I obviously trust my management that they will be able to assist me in that regard.

“This is the team’s first season in this league and I do not think there would be too much pressure on them. But at least we need to finish in the top four,” he said.

The victory lifts TSS to fifth place on the 12-team league table, nine points behind leaders Dinare FC, with eight rounds of matches still to be played when the league resumes after the festive break.

For Notwane, the defeat saw them slip to seventh spot. Their early-season form has been disrupted by technical changes midway through the first round, while off-field issues continue to fester.

Sources have informed SportMonitor that a no-confidence motion is being prepared against chairman, Freddie Ramodise and his committee, with former chairperson, Director Lekaba linked to a possible return.

The club membership had planned a special assembly over the weekend but failed to convene.
