Manong Game Lodge

After a stressful year, I was eager to unwind and reconnect with nature. Little did I know that this hidden gem would exceed my expectations and leave me feeling rejuvenated.

Upon arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome, and the breathtaking landscape unfolded before me. The lodge's unique blend of luxury and nature was evident from the start. Manong Game Lodge stands out as a tranquil oasis, offering a taste of the delta's magic in the southern part of the country. Its luxury tents, reminiscent of premium camps in the delta, provided the perfect haven for relaxation.

The lodge's green landscape, inspired by Botswana's natural beauty, was a sight to behold. Indigenous plants and succulents were carefully selected to create a harmonious environment, while sculptures in the gardens told stories of Batswana culture and life. As I strolled through the gardens, I was captivated by the artistry on display, depicting the lodge's offerings and the various animals that call Manong home, including five types of vultures.

A tour of the lodge revealed the depth of its commitment to sustainability. Annalize Punt-Scanlen, the lodge's manager, explained that Manong prioritises eco-friendly practices, such as using solar energy, conserving water, and reducing waste. These efforts align with Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring a responsible and environmentally conscious stay for guests.

My accommodation was a modernized tent room, decorated with a breathtaking blend of style and comfort. The cow-skin mat, excellent bedding, and sleeper couch made it an ideal retreat for couples or friends. The shower was nothing short of magical, melting away the stresses of the year.
