Sikwane to be named BNSC CEO

The BNSC board is expected to make the announcement next week, and he will report for duty in mid-January on a four-year contract. Sikwane was reportedly selected by Sport and Arts minister Jacob Kelebeng ahead of stiff competition of sport’s heavyweights.
He beat the Botswana Football Association (BFA) CEO, Mfolo Mfolo, the Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA) senior manager, Game Mothibi and Matlala Seitshiro, a former director at the BNSC.
The BNSC head is replacing former CEO Tuelo Serufho, whose contract ended in May 2025. Makuke Steven Makuke was the acting CEO for six months and his contract was renewed in October.
Sikwane joins the Commission with vast experience after serving as CEO for Singida Black Stars, a strong Tanzanian club competing in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.
He is also a former country manager at Umbro and CEO of CRB/Collection Africa Group, where he amassed corporate experience in the financial services.
Sikwane has been the chief operations officer of the BFA and part of the COSAFA stadium inspection team. He is a widely respected administrator within the CAF and COSAFA.
He was a key Umbrella for Democratic Change Manifesto and Communications Committee member.
Sikwane said he was not in a position to comment on the issue.
For his part, Kelebeng referred MmegiSport to the BNSC. Efforts to reach BNSC board chairperson, Morule Marumo, were fruitless, as his phone rang unanswered.
