A pastor from The Testimony of Jesus Fellowship Ministry, Geoffrey Jikijela finds himself in serious trouble for allegedly defiling a teenage girl who had been taken in for counselling by her parents at the church.
Jikijela faces a single count of defilement contrary to Section 147 of the Penal Code.
It is alleged that late last year, between September 1 and 30, the pastor sexually violated the teenager (names withheld), who was at his mercy, seeking counselling.
“The allegations surrounding the matter, succinctly put, are that, sometime in September 2024, when the parents of the victim took her to the accused person (Jikijela), who is alleged to be a pastor for counselling abused the teen,” State prosecutor Mmapatsi Tshimologo said.
However, prosecutor Tshimologo said what was supposed to be a seamless counselling session turned into a horrid act that resulted in the teenage girl being sexually violated.
“Instead of counselling her (the victim), the accused (Jikijela) changed the picture and had sexual intercourse with the said child,” he said.
Furthermore, it is alleged that the accused tried to buy the silence of the victim and told her not to say a word to anyone about what had transpired between him and her.
“The accused then gave the victim P200 and told her not to tell anyone about his sordid act,” he said.
The case is set for trial on April 6,7 & 9 next year (2026) before Broadhurst Magistrate, Jobbie Moilatshimo.
