Palapye teacher found dead in suspected suicide

The deceased was reportedly at home with his family before they woke up to discover his body hanging from a tree behind their yard. Witnesses immediately alerted the police.
Confirming the incident, Palapye Police Station Assistant Commander, Assistant Superintendent Goletwa Kethamile, said officers rushed to the scene after receiving the report and transported the man to Palapye Primary Hospital, where he was certified dead on arrival by doctors.
“He did not leave any message, and his family indicated that he had shown no signs of being troubled. They are confused as to why he decided to take his life,” Kethamile said.
The police senior officer urged community members to seek help whenever they are overwhelmed instead of resorting to suicide, noting that such tragedies leave deep emotional scars on the families left behind.
He encouraged the public to reach out to social workers, Dikgosi, and even the police for support during difficult moments.
