Mogoditshane Police Station commander, SuperintenPolice are investigating a case where a woman, 22, was raped Sunday morning after she and her three friends were attacked by two men whilst walking home from an entertainment spot at Sir Seretse Khama Barracks. The incident occurred around 4am as the quartet made their way to Nkoyaphiri. Police sources have indicated that the four young women encountered two unknown men along the way.

Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Mbiganyi Letsholathebe, confirmed that the matter is under investigation.

He said a probe has been launched to trace the suspect, who is still at large.

Letsholathebe condemned the attack, urging men to respect women’s rights and freedoms.

“Women, just like men, are allowed to walk freely at any time. Such acts are unacceptable,” he said.
