Mogoditshane police probe defilement case

According to police, the boyfriend is a well-known combi driver in the village, and the teenager’s parents suspect he is older than their daughter.
The parents reportedly became worried on Sunday morning when they discovered the girl had not slept at home. After waiting for her return, they questioned her, whereupon she disclosed that she had spent the night at her boyfriend’s home. The family then reported the matter to the police, prompting the immediate opening of a defilement case.
Mogoditshane Police Station Commander Superintendent Mbiganyi Letsholathebe confirmed the incident, saying officers are actively searching for the suspect.
“We do not know the suspect’s age yet, but he is a known combi driver in Gabane. The girl was taken to the clinic for tests, and investigations into the matter are ongoing. We have launched efforts to locate and arrest the suspect,” Letsholathebe said.
Police say they did not find the man at his residence when they attempted to trace him. Letsholathebe pleaded with older men to refrain from getting into relationships with underage girls, whilst defilement remains amongst their key concerns.
