Selebo, who hails from Shoshong but is based in Gaborone, received the exciting news just two weeks after registering for the awards on Facebook last month.
Selebo has been nominated for two categories: Best Radio Show and Best Gospel Radio Presenter. The achievement marks a significant milestone in her music career, showcasing her growth and dedication to the gospel genre.
'I feel so excited, my heart is full of joy,' Selebo expressed her emotions upon receiving the nomination news. With over 10 years of experience in the music industry, Selebo has established herself as a talented gospel artist, promoter, events organiser, and radio presenter at Saks Radio in South Africa.
Selebo's accomplishments extend beyond her nominations, having recently won awards in the USA and UK for Best Radio Presenter and Best Female Discovery Artist, respectively. Her passion for gospel music is evident in her work, aiming to spread messages of love, faith, and hope through her soulful melodies.
However, Selebo highlights the challenges faced by gospel artists in Botswana, citing a lack of government support compared to other music genres. Despite these obstacles, she remains committed to her craft and empowering emerging artists through her company, Lady G Promotions.
The Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards ceremony is scheduled for December 7th at the Communio Church Auditorium in Mbombela, South Africa. As voting lines are currently closed for Botswana, Selebo appeals to her supporters to contribute financially, thus enabling her team in South Africa to cast votes on her behalf.
Selebo's nomination is a testament to her hard work and perseverance, making her a true inspiration to aspiring artists.
