The Warders had been on a winning streak, which saw them shoot to the summit, but their title charge suffered a slight dent on Saturday against high riding Holy Ghost. However, assistant coach, Tatenda Mbikiwa believes all is not lost.
“We know where we want to go and we know we are still on the right track. “We will just go back and rectify our mistakes,” he said.
Mbikiwa added it was not their best performances and made two crucial mistakes which cost them the match.
He said their opponents have not changed much since the last time they faced each other.
“We knew they would play to find their number nine (Mogakolodi Sechele) and we tried to plan for him, but like I said we made two mistakes,” he said.
He added that they knew they will play balls forward and that they have strong centre backs.
“Other mistake we made was that we played most of the balls direct and had we used our wings, we would have come up with something positive,” he said.
On the other hand, Holy Ghost’s assistant coach, Israel Aobakwe noted it was difficult to prepare for the game knowing they play log leaders.
He said they do not want to put themselves under pressure but will keep pushing and will see how it ends.
“But when the chance (to go for the league title) arises, we will go for it,” he said.
Sechele’s two goals in the first half were enough to give Holy Ghost a vital win away from home.
Prisons XI still lead the log with 22 points from 10 games while Holy Ghost moved to position five with 16 points.
