The Warders ascended to the top at the beginning of the month after beating Notwane and have not looked back. This weekend, the league goes into a round of 10 matches and will wrap up the first round next weekend.

Last weekend, Prisons XI stretched their lead to six points following a vital win over fellow title contenders, Dinare FC.

Led by Kaelo ‘Digger’ Montwedi, the Warders will look to claim another scalp tomorrow when they face high-riding Holy Ghost in what is expected to be a thriller.

The log leaders have been using Prisons' grounds as their slaughterhouse, and it will be interesting to see if Phillimon Makwengwe and his troops will come out unscathed.

They remain unbeaten at home this season after 10 rounds of matches.

The last and only time they tasted a loss was in September when they received two lashes from rookies, Tsetseng United, away in Kang. They also dropped points against Security Systems when the two sides played to a 0-0 draw.

Since then, they have been on a rampage and a win or draw against Holy Ghost tomorrow will ensure that they finish the first round sitting at the top of the league table.

Holy Ghost, however, have proven that they are not a walk in the park despite registering four losses already this season. They sit in position five with 13 points, nine points adrift of the log leaders. Last weekend, they held another strong contender, Jwaneng Young Stars, to a 1-1 draw, proving once again their ability to stand their ground against the favourites.

Early pacesetters, Dinare FC, seem to have hit a slump in recent weeks, and it will be interesting to see how they respond tomorrow against Union Flamengo Santos.

The Ramotswa-based side started the campaign very well and were seen as favourites to walk away with the title, but things have not turned out the way they expected following the departure of head coach Tomas Trucha.

They roped in Daniel ‘Chicco’ Nare, who had been doing well with Notwane, but the results have not been coming. Reports indicate that Nare might be on his way out already.

A draw or defeat to Santos will further put their title charge in trouble, with Prisons XI having engaged higher gears.

Young Stars are also breathing heavily on Dinare’s necks; one more slip-up for the latter could see them lose the second spot this weekend. Young Stars host Taung Young Strikers in Jwaneng tomorrow afternoon.

Security Systems, now sitting at position four with 14 points, host Notwane on Sunday at Motsholathebe Sports Complex. Notwane have not tasted victory since the departure of head coach, Nare, a few weeks back.

Meanwhile, Matsha College will host a relegation battle between Tsetseng United and Tlokweng United tomorrow. The visitors are languishing at the bottom of the log with only two points, whilst Tsetseng sit in position 11 with four points.

After nine rounds of matches, Tlokweng are yet to win a single game whilst Tsetseng’s only win came at the hands of log leaders, Prisons XI. All the games kick off at 4pm except for the Tsetseng/Tlokweng match, which starts at 4:30pm.
