This event promises to be the most significant and immersive celebration of Batswana heritage yet.
The event has solidified its place as a cornerstone of contemporary Batswana culture, as the organisers are determined to make this year's celebration unforgettable.
'We are not just hosting an event; we are celebrating a five-year journey of upholding our national fabric. This year, we are going big to honour this milestone,' one of the organisers, Olebogeng Letlhogela, stated.
He added that this year's event has been engineered for enhanced patron experience, with a major upgrade being the beverage service. He also said the event will feature four dedicated bar areas to prevent long queues and a clarified cooler box policy.
The event proudly targets a diverse audience, with the core mission being to maintain and uphold the esteemed Leteisi fabric as a symbol of Batswana pride and heritage. 'Our target is all people from all walks of life—the young, middle-aged, and old,' Letlhogela explained.
The soundtrack of the celebration will feature the renowned South African Afro-house band, Mi Casa, promising an unforgettable live music experience. The organisers have also teased opportunities for vendors and robust security provided by multiple upcoming security companies.
However, the event faces challenges, particularly lack of sufficient sponsorship from government entities. He says it is a paradox that the event is aligned with national heritage, yet the government is losing out on the opportunity to leverage it for international tourism.
The plan is to continue hosting the event annually, with a long-term vision to nationalize the movement. 'For as long as there is relevance in the brand, we will go on. The ultimate intention is to nationalise the movement,' he affirmed.
