“Kaelo Madima, a Motswana male aged 53 years of Flowertown, Mahalapye. The deceased was found hanging in the roof of his house by the police,” he said.

To their surprise, Ranku said, Madima who had committed suicide was a man on their radar for offences he had committed.

“He was wanted for cases of threat to kill and arson committed on October 30 just a day before,” he reported.

The two accused persons have since been identified as Onkgopotse Mpateng aged 41 years and Joseph Nkete aged 40 years.

“It is alleged that the two accused persons Mpateng & Nkete had a quarrel with the deceased person (Morekisi). It is reported that the two allegedly assaulted him,” Ranku said.

The Central Police commander said, his officers were called to the scene and rushed there only to take the deceased to Mahalapye Hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival.

Ranku has since provided that the two accused persons were formally charged yesterday before Mahalapye Magistrate Court.

“The two accused persons were arraigned before Mahalapye Magistrate Court on November 3 (yesterday) and charged with murder,” he said.

He further revealed that the alleged assailants have since been remanded in custody until their next status update scheduled for November 24.
