Man, 23, drowns at family fun day in Palapye

“Other guests who were present at the event attempted to rescue him, but unfortunately, it was already too late,” Palapye Central Police Station commander, Superintendent Tiro Kgang, said.

He added that upon arrival at the scene, his officers rushed the victim to Palapye Primary Hospital for medical attention, but doctors certified him dead on arrival.

Kgang said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the drowning are ongoing.

Meanwhile, the station head advised the public to exercise caution and ensure safety measures are in place during recreational activities, especially those involving water.
