The hosts registered a shock 2-1 win over Notwane last weekend whilst Dinare beat fellow title contenders, Jwaneng Young Stars by 1-0. The log leaders are now under the tutelage of Daniel ‘Chicco’ Nare who stepped in last week following the departure of Tomas Trucha.
The Ramotswa-based side roped in Nare after leading Notwane to a fantastic run this season, which included vital wins against Dinare and Young Stars.
His first assignment was leading Dinare against Young Stars in Thamaga last weekend and he delivered again. On Saturday, Holy Ghost Park will be a battleground with Nare facing another local gaffer, Phillimon Makwengwe.
On paper, the statistics favour Dinare who have only lost once this season, winning five and playing to a draw once in seven games. Holy Ghost’s win against Notwane was only their third in seven games, having already lost four times. They have conceded nine goals in the league so far.
Dinare on the other hand have only conceded four goals and have hit the net 13 times this season. They have a healthy goal difference of nine, which separates them from second-placed Prisons XI.
The Warders have been moving silently up the ladder and their 2-1 victory over Tlokweng United last weekend saw them move to the second position on the table. This afternoon they take on Notwane at Prisons ground looking to extend their good run and remain in contention. Notwane on the other hand are looking to bounce back from the shock defeat last weekend.
The former Premier League giants have been facing financial challenges, which have reportedly impacted negatively on their preparation for last weekend’s match.
This week, they announced the appointment of Enos Mmesi as Nare’s replacement in the hope that they stay within the title race. Despite last weekend’s loss, only three points separate Notwane and the log leaders.
Young Stars, who are sitting at position three, will host rookies Majweng FC in Jwaneng tomorrow while Security Systems take on Thamaga Shooting Stars.
Taung Young Strikers will take a long trip to take on Tsetseng United while Union Flamengo Santos host Tlokweng United. United are still looking for their first win of the season after seven games.
They have only scored two goals so far and conceded 20 times. All games kick off at 4pm except for Tsetseng United and Young Strikers match which starts at 4:30pm.
