Police hunt man for defiling 15-year-old girl

According to Maun acting Police Station Commander, Assistant Superintendent Moutwatsi Ikobeng, the incident came to light after the victim’s 27-year-old sister suspected that her younger sibling was involved with the man. She decided to follow the teenager to the suspect’s house in Thito Ward on Saturday, where she reportedly found the two together.
Ikobeng said the matter was immediately reported to the police, who rushed to the scene. However, the suspect managed to flee the crime scene upon the arrival of the police.
“Upon arrival with the police, the known suspect escaped the crime scene. We have since launched investigations to locate and arrest him,” Ikobeng said.
He added that during questioning, the teenage girl confirmed that she had been in a relationship with the man for some time.
“We do not yet know the suspect’s exact age, but this will be established once he is arrested,” Ikobeng said.
Police have since opened a case of defilement and urged members of the public to assist with any information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.
