This three-day extravaganza promises to be a masterclass in creativity, empowerment, and African excellence. It will feature a range of activities, including masterclasses, fashion showcases, and exhibitions.
According to FWB co-founder at Edgy, Tebow Bakwena-Kobisoso, there is a Kiddies Fashion Masterclass, where kids learn the fundamentals of fashion, build confidence, and unleash their creativity. The session is free, and registration is open to all. She said on day two, fashion enthusiasts could attend the Fashion Unpacked Masterclass with iconic South African designer Laduma Ngxokolo of Maxhosa Africa. Furthermore, she explained that the thought-provoking session will explore design, branding, sustainability, and entrepreneurship, offering valuable insights into the fashion industry. The masterclass will also touch on Maxhosa Africa's creative journey and future ambitions, including plans to establish a production factory in Botswana.
'The event will culminate in a grand finale fashion showcase on day three, featuring top designers from across the region. The runway production will be complemented by live performances and entertainment, making for an unforgettable night. FWB has partnered with Mr Price Group to offer an internship to emerging designers. The selected designers will gain exposure to real retail operations, product development, and global business practices, providing a direct pathway into the fashion industry,' she said.
Furthermore, Bakwena-Kobisoso said FWB is more than just a fashion event, adding that it is a cultural exchange platform that nurtures future leaders from the creative industry. With over a decade of impact, she stated that FWB continues to drive diversity, inclusion, and industry growth across Africa.
