With Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Jwaneng Galaxy and Township Rollers all off duty, the Sowa Town-based side has a golden window to stake a claim at the top of the table. Their test comes in the form of Calendar Stars, who visit the Sowa Town Council Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is at 4pm. A win could catapult Sua into pole position, but only if they harness the moment and deliver under the mounting pressure. Sua enter this fixture in solid form.

Their latest outing before the international break saw them edge Santa Green 2–1, demonstrating composure and resolve in the dying minutes.

Across six matches this season, they have amassed three wins, one draw, and two losses, giving them 10 points and a mid-upper table standing with real momentum.

Sua have only lost once in the last five matches and reflect a team capable of fighting until the final whistle.

Calendar Stars, on the other hand, are struggling to find their rhythm. Six matches into the season, they remain winless, registering two draws and four defeats.

Their offensive output is meagre, just two goals in six games, averaging 0.33 per match. Form-wise, they have staggered along as they lost three games and played to a draw once.

With the league’s worst recent points-per-game record, Stars will need more than luck to upset the Flamingoes at home.

On paper, the numbers and confidence lean heavily towards Sua. But football, as always, has a way of twisting the script.

A motivated underdog or a momentary lapse could redefine expectations. Whilst Sua grab the limelight, the weekend is also defined by notable absences.

The Gaborone Derby between Township Rollers and Gaborone United has been postponed as several players from both clubs are away on national duty for the World Cup qualifier against Guinea.

The Zebras are returning home on Thursday afternoon from the 2–2 draw played in Morocco on Tuesday.

With just 48 hours before the then set kick time for the Gaborone Derby, league authorities have since decided to move the high profile league game to a later date. The tight return schedule made the derby impractical this weekend.

Meanwhile, Jwaneng Galaxy were set to host Mochudi Centre Chiefs but are in Zambia preparing for a CAF Champions League clash against Zesco United.

With these commitments, and as Botswana’s usual powerhouses step aside, it leaves space for clubs like Flamingoes to use the opportunity to take top table spot.

Rollers in the lead, Chiefs in second and Galaxy in third, the top spot is for Bafana Ba Letswai for the taking.

In other games, Matebele FC take on Extension Gunners on Saturday afternoon at the GU Stadium. Police XI host Nico United at the VTM Arena whilst TAFIC are visitors to Morupule Wanderers at Palapye Stadium.

Black Lions face Orapa United at Royal Aria Stadium, whilst on Sunday afternoon, Santa Green host BDF XI at Palapye Stadium. All the games will kick off at 4pm.
