The new queen, Nicky Monametsi, has expressed gratitude and commitment to use her platform to make a positive impact in her community. Monametsi shared her vision for her reign, saying it focuses on amplifying the voices of young people and those living with disabilities, supporting initiatives that promote education and mental health, and serving as a role model for young people.

She emphasised her commitment to partnering with local organisations to run workshops, mentorship programs, and community events that promote positive change.

Asked what sets her apart, she cited her passion for community service, confidence, and ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. She is a strong advocate for children's rights, people living with disabilities, and education, and is committed to using her platform to make a difference.

One of the pressing issues she highlighted facing young women today is unemployment and its contribution to Gender-Based Violence (GBV). To address this, she proposes skills training, job placement, and economic empowerment programs, partnering with organizations to provide vocational training and entrepreneurship programs.

“As a titleholder, I prioritise my responsibilities, manage my time effectively, and stay organised. I want to convey to young people that they are capable and deserving of achieving their dreams, inspiring them to be confident, take risks, and pursue their passions. The Miss Independence Kgatleng pageant is a celebration of youth empowerment and community development, providing a platform for women to showcase their talents, intelligence, and compassion. With my new title, I am set to make a significant impact in my community and beyond,” she said proudly.

The new Miss Independence Kgatleng is not only a beauty queen but also a passionate advocate for positive change. With her creativity, passion for beauty, and self-taught skills, she inspires others to embrace their passions and pursue their interests.
