The new queen, Nicky Monametsi, has expressed gratitude and commitment to use her platform to make a positive impact in her community. One of the pressing issues she highlighted facing young women today is unemployment and its contribution to Gender-Based Violence (GBV). To address this, she proposes skills training, job placement, and economic empowerment programs, partnering with organizations to provide vocational training and entrepreneurship programs.
“As a titleholder, I prioritise my responsibilities, manage my time effectively, and stay organised. I want to convey to young people that they are capable and deserving of achieving their dreams, inspiring them to be confident, take risks, and pursue their passions. The Miss Independence Kgatleng pageant is a celebration of youth empowerment and community development, providing a platform for women to showcase their talents, intelligence, and compassion. With my new title, I am set to make a significant impact in my community and beyond,” she said proudly.
