The luxury streetwear brand, founded by Lukundo Simpemba in 2020, displayed its latest collection, cementing its place among the world’s top designers. “Bantu Gold is more than clothing, it is a cultural statement,” said Bantu Gold CEO and Founder Simpemba. The brand’s unique blend of African heritage and premium design continues to redefine the global streetwear landscape. He said Bantu Gold was officially invited to New York Fashion Week through Runway7, one of the biggest showcases during the event. He explained that the brand’s growth and creative direction caught the attention of Runway7, which recognised Bantu Gold as one of the leading voices in contemporary African fashion.

He said the brand’s experience at New York Fashion Week was unforgettable, with the audience connecting deeply with the story behind each design. “The energy in the room, the applause, and the curiosity about our heritage proved that the world is ready for authentic African narratives told with excellence,” Simpemba said. He said Bantu Gold’s success at New York Fashion Week was just the beginning, adding that the brand had been invited back for the next NYFW season and is already working on a private experience for supporters and collaborators. Simpemba also said they were in talks with key fashion platforms across Africa and Europe to continue expanding the Bantu Gold narrative globally. In 2026, Bantu Gold will collaborate with Unilever again, focusing on storytelling, sustainability, and design at scale.

The brand’s mission is simple: to tell African stories in a global language. He further explained that all items from Bantu Gold’s House of Bantu collection were now available for preorder via their online platform. Bantu Gold is available on Instagram and TikTok @bantugold for behind-the-scenes stories, production insights, and upcoming drops. Each Bantu Gold garment is handcrafted, symbolising unity, resilience, and the beauty of African identity.
