ATI's management cautions against unauthorised use of ATI's image

In a statement released on his official page, the management noted with concern that people have been using his name to enrich themselves under the guise that they are paying tribute to the fallen lyricist.

This comes shortly after many videos surfaced online since his passing of people impersonating him, performing his songs on stage.

“Batho Bame Investments, the official custodian of the late ATI, issues this public notice regarding the growing incidents of individuals impersonating ATI and commercially benefiting from his image, name, and music works,” the management stated.

Management also stated that the work of ATI that spans over a decade has been intellectually protected and any act that individuals that they will be doing in his name, they will be breaking the law.

“We hereby state unequivocally that ATI’s name, image, likeness, voice, and creative works are legally protected intellectual property under copyright and image rights law,” reads the statement.

It further stated that any made in the image of ATI warrants legal action against the perpetrator.

“Any act of performing or appearing as ATI, using his name, image, or voice for financial or promotional gain, and profiting from contributions or performances without written authorisation constitutes unauthorized exploitation and misrepresentation,” reads the statement.

“Such conduct is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate legal action,” read the statement.

Nonetheless, management recognises and appreciates the love that the nation continues to show towards ATI and its legacy.
