Moshopha man arrested for girlfriend's alleged murder

The deceased, who also hailed from Moshopha, had reportedly visited their home village over the weekend and returned to Gaborone on Sunday evening. Upon her return, the couple who share a child allegedly got into a heated argument that turned violent.
Confirming the incident, No.13 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Mmoloke Sebako, said they received the report around 1:50 am on Monday.
“The lovers were staying together in a rented house in Old Naledi location, Gaborone. Investigations are ongoing to establish what led to the fight, but we have since established that the boyfriend stabbed the mother of his child to death with a sharp object,” Sebako said.
He added that the suspect was arrested the same morning and is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations. Sebako further stated that the 31-year-old man is expected to appear before the Extension II Magistrates' Court soon, facing a single count of murder.
