The team’s head coach, Srdan Zivojnov, was pleased with a point secured away from home in the 0-0 draw against the Lobatse giants during closely contested tie on Saturday. Although he felt that they could have collected maximum points after an improved second half against the home side, Zivojnov said a point away from home was not a bad result for his side.
The Serbian mentor said his side was not aggressive in the first half despite controlling the game.
He also said they had already anticipated that Gunners would try and use a defensive approach against his side and use counter attacks to get a goal.
“In the second half we played better. We created chances but the problem again is that we are not scoring goals. But one point away is not bad,” he reacted following the game.
Gunners on the other hand are sitting at position 12 with five points and will rue missed chances created in the first half.
The Peleng giants matched Rollers in every department though their main undoing was failing to make the right decisions in the final third.
Assistant coach, Mothusi Kenosi, admitted that they are doing everything well except to put the ball in the back of the net. He said they have been working on that aspect and hope it will improve in the coming matches.
“Rollers and Gunners are big teams and games of this magnitude attract a lot of attention. So we motivated the boys by telling them that they can make names for themselves if they perform well on the day,” Kenosi told journalists after the match.
“Who else makes it to the starting lineup has to prove himself. The plan to deny Rollers’ players space and take them on counter-attacks.”
Out of six games, Gunners have won one, drew two and lost three.
