He told The Monitor that the store owners were shocked to find the premises ransacked and items missing when they opened for business on Saturday morning.
“It looks like the unknown thieves gained entry through the ceiling, which had been destroyed. We have since launched a probe to locate the suspects, who are still at large.
“We plead with members of the public who might have witnessed anything or who may have information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forward,” he said.
Letsholathebe further urged the business community to tighten security measures to curb such crimes.
“We advise businesses to consider employing security guards and installing devices such as CCTV cameras to safeguard their premises,” he advised.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
