Organised by Leapfrog Advertising, under the stewardship of founder and creative director, Fish Pabalinga, the GIMC once again showcased a blend of music, comedy, poetry, dance and lifestyle experiences.
Now in its 11th year, the festival has evolved into a platform that not only entertains but also nurtures upcoming artists and small businesses.
This year’s events line-up offered a diverse array of events, ranging from poetry sessions and comedy nights to the soulful sounds of jazz, clap-and-tap performances, the glamorous champagne picnic and the health-focused aerobics session.
Pabalinga highlighted that the 2025 edition was designed with an even greater focus on delivering memorable experiences for patrons.
“We made sure that all events were well executed and that patrons left with lasting memories of great performances and an all-round good customer experience,” he told Showtime.
Pabalinga noted that supporting Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) was also a key focus area this year, with numerous businesses in fashion, health and beauty, food, accessories, sound, stage and lighting benefiting from the platform.
The GIMC has also built a reputation for reliability, with Pabalinga proudly pointing out that since its inception in 2014, not a single booked act had ever failed to show up.
“All our booked artists, choirs, comedians and other performers turned up, performed on time and delivered. This consistency is testimony to the fact that GIMC is a calendar event no one wants to miss,” he added.
For many emerging performers, the Festival continues to serve as a launchpad into the industry and as the curtains close on GIMC 2025 officially marking the beginning of summer, the week-long GIMC festivities were a success.
