Not too late to plough - Met chief

In an interview with Mmegi, the Director of Meteorological Services, Phetolo Phage, said yesterday that in their seasonal forecast for the period 2008/09 they had expected that by this time rain would be consistent, with normal rain showers.

'The difference between now and last season 2007/08 where we see the rains coming a little late is due to the fact that the temperatures in the Pacific Ocean were low, whilst now they have risen up,' he said. The rains are expected to continue for sometime this year. So it is not too late (for farmers) to till the land, he said.
