Leteisi on Heels fuses traditional leteisi with modern glamour

In an interview with Arts&Culture, the co-creator of Leteisi on Heels, Taolo “Taes” Entaile said the occasion is not just a fashion event, but a lifestyle experience that celebrates national identity through food, music, and breathtaking fashion. Entaile, who is a curator, fashion Icon and founder of Richman explained that the occaassion seeks to honour Leteisi in a fresh, sophisticated way.
'Traditionally, Leteisi has been associated with weddings and ceremonial wear, but we believe it belongs on runways, brunches, lifestyle events, and global fashion platforms. This event is our love letter to Botswana, showing what is possible when culture meets creativity. Guests can expect a red-carpet experience, live music, fine dining inspired by traditional cuisine with a modern twist, and of course, bold Leteisi fashion statements,' he said.
Furthermore, Entaile stated that they are targeting a premium lifestyle crowd, diplomats, fashionistas, music lovers, influencers, foodies and corporates who would like to align with culture, luxury and lifestyle. There will be performances by South African sensation Lloyiso, alongside top local acts such as Dato Seiko, Frostbite, Shimboy, Fino Maths, Rosey Shades, and MC-Mis Geekays.
These artists are expected to set the perfect tone for an evening of elegance and cultural pride. He also stated that they were selling stalls will to brands and corporates who want to showcase or sell their products. He said pricing details will be shared directly with interested parties.
Entaile said bottled beverages will not be allowed in. He added that guests would be catered for with premium bar services inside the venue, offering a curated selection of drinks to enhance the experience. He further stated that security will be very tight, adding that they are working with professional security providers to ensure the safety of all the guests.
'From the red carpet to the main event area, we are prioritising a secure, enjoyable experience. One of the main challenges is ensuring that we deliver a first-of-its-kind event at the highest standard possible. It requires significant resources, support from sponsors, coordination, and creativity, but we are committed to pulling it off. We want Leteisi on Heels to become an annual cultural highlight, celebrated not just in Botswana but across Africa as a premier fashion and lifestyle experience,' he said.
Moreover, he emphasised that the dress code was very important calling on women to wear Leteisi with heels whilst men pair Leteisi with sneakers. He explained that deliberate combination represented a balance of elegance and street style. He added that they wanted every guest to not only attend but own the red carpet.
