For the first time ever, the pageant is set to dazzle audiences on August 30 at Adansonia Hotel. The pageant is expected to draw people from all corners of the country, promising an unforgettable evening of beauty, intellect, culture, and empowerment. In an interview, the pageant's events coordinator, Gabby Gosekwang, she explained that they currently have 10 finalists, each representing different districts across Botswana. 'These young women have been undergoing intensive preparation ahead of the finale. So far, we have successfully hosted two transformative boot camps,' she said.
Gosekwang further elaborated that the first boot camp was held in the Makgadikgadi region while the second was in South Africa. Both were designed to equip the ladies with skills in public speaking, confidence, poise, advocacy, diplomacy, and stage presence, she added. 'Yesterday, we held a 'Parent-Contestant meeting' where we briefed parents on progress of the finalists, their personal growth and overall development during the competition. It was heartwarming to see the support from families and how invested they are in this journey,' she continued. Additionally, Gosekwang said that ticket sales have been going exceptionally well, and as such they expect a full house on the night of the finale. On other matters, she encouraged the public to secure tickets early to avoid disappointment.
She stated that Sunbet Botswana are the headline sponsors, along with Adansonia Hotel (host venue), the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Botswana National Museum, M3 Media, Faded Shots Media, and others. According to the MUB Events Coordinator, the finalists will travel to Francistown today, where they will stay until September 1. 'During their stay, the contestants will participate in several key activities, including a cultural night, interviews, project presentations, rehearsals, and professional photoshoots, all leading up to the grand finale,' she added . Miss Universe Botswana is not just a beauty pageant but a platform for young Batswana women to lead, advocate for, and represent the nation on the global stage. 'We look forward to welcoming the nation to Francistown as we crown a new queen who will represent Botswana at the 74th Miss Universe competition,' she said.
