Kopong shop broken into, suspects wanted

The incident was confirmed by No.12 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Mmoloke Sebako.

He told The Monitor that the theft is believed to have occurred on Friday night or Saturday early morning.

The estimation of the time was arrived at because the owners discovered the break-in the following morning when they came to open the store and immediately reported the matter to the police.

Sebako revealed that the suspects, who are still at large, gained entry into the shop by cutting through corrugated iron sheets.

Once inside, they allegedly stole groceries worth P11,000 along with P2,000 in cash, he revealed.

“We do not know who the suspects are,” Sebako said.

“We have launched investigations to establish who might be behind this case and we are pleading with members of the public who might have any information that could lead to their arrest to come forward and assist.”

He further urged the business community to strengthen their security measures to guard against such incidents.
