The two sides will line up at the Touch Down ground tomorrow at 4pm. Hogs are eyeing a sixth title, and the side enjoyed a dominant semi-final win by beating Canon Jaguars 25-15 at the same venue last week.

Hogs, the most decorated side in the domestic league will not make it an easy afternoon for the visitors.

Cheetahs have to battle to book their slot in the final by pulling a 22-17 in the second half of the game against Jwaneng Wildebeests.

Emotions are expected to run high as Cheetahs have been waiting for this moment since 2017, which was the last time they were in the final.

Being in the final is a win for the Army boys because they know the uphill battle that comes with playing against Hogs.

Cheetahs spokesperson, Modesto Madzambe, told MmegiSport that last season they off loaded some seniors because they realised that they needed speedy players to compete.

He said the current crop of players is new to rugby and they eagerly follow the coach’s instructions.

“Our players are in incredible vein of their career and I expect them to get the job done tomorrow. “We know Hogs have been defending the league title for a long time, they are the favourites to win again. Hogs will also have home ground advantage and they have fast players,” he said.

Cheetahs, who have not registered a loss this season, will also face Hogs in the women’s league semi-final.

Hogs coach, Vuyo Moyo, said preparations for the final have gone according to plan and the players are ready. He added they expect a tough game because Cheetahs wants to win the league. “I expect the players to use their experience, follow the game plan and work hard in order for them to defend their league title. I also expect the forwards to come to the party and win this game for us,” Moyo said.

“It has been a hard season, but we always pulled through. Being victorious is not only about having the best players in the league, but it is about teamwork and executing a good game plan.”
