Botswana registers two more doping cases

Botswana has registered a further two doping cases, the Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) has confirmed.
 
Botswana has registered a further two doping cases, the Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) has confirmed.

In a statement, the BNOC said athletes, Tshepang Manyika and Mpho Lekwalo tested positive for prohibited substances, Oxymetholone and Stanazolol respectively. 'These are substances that are prohibited under the 2025 World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List. The two substances are Anabolic Androgenic Steroids classified under 5.1.1 Anabolic Agents,' the BNOC said.

The local Olympic said samples were collected from the two athletes during in-competition tests on 16 May 2025. 'The athletes have been notified of the Adverse Analytic Findings. The two cases will undergo processing in line with the International Stadnard for Results Management to determine fair and impartial outcomes,' the BNOC said.
