Car sale dispute ends deadly

Confirming to be investigating the matter, Mahalapye Central Police Station Commander, Superintendent Meshack Ranku said the incident occurred Tuesday late evening around 5pm. He also said the suspects are males aged between 19 and 30 with the youngest being a Zimbabwean while others are locals from Moduledi ward, Tewane.
“The tragedy began when the deceased, a 42-year-old man of Mowana ward, Mahalapye sold a motor vehicle to one of the accused individuals. A misunderstanding over the transaction suddenly escalated into a heated argument which spiraled into a physical fight and during the confrontation, the victim sustained severe head injuries. He was rushed to Mahalapye hospital, he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors,” Ranku said. Ranku said the the suspects have been arrested and they are expected to appear before Mahalapye Magistrate's Court for their arrangements sometime this week.
Meanwhile, Ranku further revealed to be also investigating a rape case which occurred Wednesday night at Tshikinyega ward, Mahalapye in which a 17-year-old girl was attacked and raped by an unknown man whilst in her sleep.
“The victim was roused from her sleep by the intruder who threatened and subsequently raped her and fled the crime scene. We have since launched a probe to locate and arrest the suspect who is still at large,” Ranku said.
