The sixth women’s etiquette brunch is slated for July 26 at Cresta Lodge. The event organiser, Mitchelle Phetlhe told Arts&Culture in an interview that the brunch offers women a safe platform for them to reflect on their lives and turn over a new leaf. “The concept of this event is to open up the event to the public and invite a panel, which could impart knowledge on different topics to the guests who all had the common interest of growing and bettering themselves,” Phetlhe said.
Phetlhe said the brunch is a good environment for the public, most importantly women. “The brunch would be a safe space to share, heal, laugh, cry and ultimately gather tools to make one the best version of themselves. A relaxed atmosphere where women encouraged and poured into one another’s cups,” she said. Regarding the panel selected for the brunch, Phetlhe said speakers on the day were selected from all walks of life to make them relatable to people in attendance. “When coming up with our panel we look at our potential topics and decide on them. What is important, what needs attention, what is pressing issue in society,” she said.
The selected speakers for the brunch are; Mimi Dintwa (psychotherapist), Enhle Mlotshwa (Media personality), Sharon Mathala (seasoned journalist), Dr Dayana Palai (medical doctor). Tickets for the event are selling for P500 each.
