Man dies after being hit by car in Tsolamosese

A 28-year-old man lost his life on Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle near the Tsabong Bar turn-off traffic lights in Tsolamosese, Mogoditshane.
 
A 28-year-old man lost his life on Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle near the Tsabong Bar turn-off traffic lights in Tsolamosese, Mogoditshane.

No.13 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae, said the fatal accident occurred around 10:10pm.

The deceased was reportedly walking with a group of about five young men when the tragedy happened.

“It is alleged that the group had just crossed the road, but the deceased suddenly attempted to cross back to the other side when a car was approaching, resulting in him being hit,” explained Lokae.

The driver of the vehicle, a 38-year-old man who was behind the wheel of a Mercedes Benz, is said to have immediately reported the matter to the police.

The police swiftly attended the accident, and rushed the victim to Princess Marina Hospital, where doctors confirmed the young man's death upon arrival.

Lokae stated that investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. He urged pedestrians to exercise caution, especially when crossing busy roads at night.

Police continue to warn both motorists and pedestrians to observe traffic regulations to avoid similar tragic incidents.
