The accident occurred around 8:30am along the Metsimotlhabe–Kopong road when the driver of the 25-seater minibus reportedly lost control of the vehicle after hitting a pothole.
The vehicle veered off the road and plunged into nearby bushes, resulting in multiple injuries, the police said.
No.13 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae said four passengers sustained fractures and are currently hospitalised at Sidilega Private Hospital where they are receiving medical attention.
'Other passengers had sustained minor injuries and they were treated and discharged the same morning,' he said.
Lokae attributed the accident to poor road conditions and urged motorists to exercise extreme caution, especially that most of the roads have potholes.
“Most of our roads are in a bad state. We plead with drivers to avoid speeding so they can spot hazards such as potholes in time,' he said.
“Many accidents are caused by speeding and failure to observe road signs hence pleading with drivers to work on their attitudes on the road.'
